Carissa and Sam met in the winter of 2022 when he put a guitar case down next to her chair at a mutual friend's concert.
“Do you mind if I drop this here?” he said.
“Sure, no worries,” she said, and for a month or two, that was all.
But a little while down the road, Sam ran into their mutual friend Annalisa. He was still wondering who that pretty girl with the lovely laugh from the concert was, and he asked Annalisa to give his phone number to her in case she was interested. Lucky for him, she was.
She had also been taken with him that evening (along with his dumb stage banter), and while neither of them made a move in the moment, they had both been thinking about each other from afar while unwittingly living two blocks away from one another. Looking up at the same stars indeed!
Numbers were exchanged, along with 17K text messages, and myriad local food recommendations. A whirlwind romance, a run-in with a cowboy (and their now officiant), a second one-eyed cat procured, and no small number of travels.
As Carissa said, three months into knowing Sam:
“This man's either going to be my best friend or I’m marrying him.” Lo and behold, here you are, reading the “our story” on their wedding webpage.
